As a pastor's wife for many years, I have attended numerous retreats and workshops. A few years ago I had the privilege to attend an all-day, interdenominational retreat where MaryEllen Stone was the Keynote speaker. To this day, I remember the topic and am still challenged by its content. MaryEllen is an excellent Christian womens speaker and teacher, not only in the Christian community but also as a Counselor/Instructor at a community college. I have heard many a student speak highly of her classes, as well as how much they benefited from her counsel. I just loved MaryEllen's presentation on Laughter. Her standing ovation at our Women's Conference in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico was well deserved. Her enthusiasm was so infectious that I went home almost unable to sleep because I was so energized. I own two women's clothing stores and we run into rejection with some people, usually those who don't laugh and aren't happy. So I taught my girls to just laugh it off. When no one is in the store I get them laughing and we all go crazy. It is so much fun and it gets the endorphins going for that good natural high. I wish MaryEllen were here every week just to get us going. I hope she comes to Cabo San Lucas again one day and we can have a laugh off!

I enjoyed a class called Psychology of Humor that MaryEllen taught at Lower Columbia College, in Longview, Washington. I recently had the privilege of reading a section of one of MaryEllen's transcripts. I can't wait till her book is finished. Her humor and creativity are clearly going to be a big hit with readers! I about laughed myself off my chair as I read MaryEllen's description of an ironic twist of events! I look forward to reading more.
